How to stop the ads.bluelithium Browser Issues

For some reason, on your Internet Explorer at the top bar, you keep getting the ads.bluelithium.com/iframe3... that keeps knocking you out of your Yahoo! Email, then gives you a connection issue and problems browsing. Well you are not alone.

Recently, we had a customer that started having this problem and, having researched it, we discovered that it is some Yahoo! advertising. We also determined that there have been cases of malware attached to advertising like this. With this information in hand we have been recommending the following to our customers.

First off, you can attempt to Opt Out of the ad using the following link: http://www.bluelithium.com/optout.html.

Then we recommend doing a complete RESET of your Internet Explorer. To do this click on Tools on your toolbar --> Select “Internet Options” --> Go to the “Advanced” tab --> towards the bottom click on “Reset…” --> and click the “Reset” button again at the bottom of the window that comes up. Note that this will remove Cookies and any “Remembered” passwords for any sites that you were accessing via Internet Explorer.

Then Restart your Internet Explorer.

Then Go into Tools --> Click on "Internet Options" --> Click on "Security" tab à Click on "Restricted Sites" --> Click "Sites" --> Type in the following two sites:

http://ads.bluelithium.com
http://ad.yieldmanager.com

Afterwards, just to be on the safe side, I would recommend that you download a program called Malwarebytes. You can get the Free version from the following site: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php. Click on the blue button that says: Download – free version. Once you have the mbamsetup.exe on your desktop then install it, update it and run a Full Scan to see if there is any more malware on your computer.

If you have experienced this problem then I hope that this information is helpful. Have a great day!
