Storm Surge Is Flood, Judge Says, Standard
Insurance Won't Cover Damage. A federal judge sided with the
insurance industry yesterday and against water-battered victims of
Hurricane Katrina by ruling that storm-induced surges are floods and
therefore not covered by standard homeowner policies....The ruling by
U.S. District Court Judge L. T. Senter Jr. is one of the first to
address thousands of similar claims that have been filed by Mississippi
and Louisiana residents in Katrina's aftermath. If upheld, it could save
the industry -- and cost policyholders -- tens of billions of dollars in
unpaid claims. (I will that their insurance premiums will still go
up!)

8. Some
Technical News: Intel's Core architecture puts them well in the
performance lead in both desktop and server CPUs (AMDs had the
performance crown for about 8 months with desktops and a while longer
with servers). Frequently asked question -- How do they compare?
Plenty of sites compare desktop CPU performance, very few compare server
CPUs. Here's a quick conclusion and some links:
Xeon performance: any of the 51xx will
outperform any of the comparably priced 50xx Xeons (which outperform
800FSB Xeons). We recommend 51xx.

Generally, any of the Core 2 Duo will outperform previous
CPUs--including previous extreme editions. Various benchmarks vary a
bit, however. Core 2 is available from CPU Help on our i483 and there
is not much difference in price from the Pentium D, but the motherboards
are a bit higher in cost:
